Francisco Laucirica is a Hispanic Studies PhD candidate at McGill University. His research is part of the project “Mapping Early Modern Lima as a Theater of Conversion,” in collaboration with Jason R. Young and under the supervision of professors José R. Jouvé Martin and Stéfan Sinclair. This work focuses on the early history of colonial Lima, Peru, and combines literary and historical research with digital humanities tools and methods to map the city’s historical development in relation to the activities of religious the religious institutions that helped shape its urban space.
